Continuous Favor

Ruth 2:13
May I continue to find favor in your eyes, my lord, she said (Ruth 2:13a, NIV).

Permit me to share another thought with you on favor. The more I read this book, the more I see divine truths we could apply to our lives. While reading this chapter, my  attention was drawn to today’s focal text. Following the interaction between Ruth and Boaz, she recognized that all that has happened so far is because she found favor in the sight of Boaz.

Remember, favor is preferential treatment that you receive from someone or an authority. It is an act of kindness done for you out of someone’s goodwill. Ruth acknowledged it  and prayed for more. She said, “May I continue to find favor in your eyes, my lord” (Ruth 2:13). Hidden in this verse is a revelation. Ruth understood that favor was what she  needed to take her from where she was to where she needed to be.

When you know that God has favored you before a person, in a city or a nation, or a church, you must understand that, that is where you need to be for as long as the Lord  permits it. Respect it and maximize it. Jesus never went to where he was not accepted. Why? With favor you will not struggle and the anointing will flow easily to meet need and  bless lives. A people that you do not know will serve you (Psalm 18:43).

You cannot go too far in life without the favor of God and man. Think on these things. Shalom.

Your Turn

  • Do you believe in favor and are you expecting to be favored by God and man?
  • Do you need the favor of God and man in any area of your life? Talk to God about it.
