The Coming Kingdom
Luke 17: 20-37
“The kingdom of God does not come with observation;
nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For
indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”
Luke 17:20-21
As many as have received the Lord Jesus into their heart, the kingdom of God is within them. He has said in
Revelation 3:20: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come into him and dine with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20).
Therefore, when the Pharisees asked Jesus about the kingdom, Jesus wasted no time to give them the illustration of
His second coming. The kingdom is within them and will come to full maturity when He returns. The message for us
from today’s passage is that:
1. We must not become complacent in our walk with God.
2. We must watch so we are not deceived.
3. We should avoid greed and materialism. We have an eternity waiting for us in Christ.
4. The manifestation of the kingdom will be a surprise. We must live in anticipation of it.
5. Many will scorn the need to repent and believe just as it was done in the days of Noah and Lot. Don’t be a
victim.
Friend, let us watch and pray that we do not lose our spiritual sensitivity. We must continue to reverence and cherish our relationship with the Father. The Lord Jesus has spoken. Let us respond. Shalom.
