Give Thanks Unto The Lord
Psalm 136:1-26
Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever (Psalm 136:1).
Lanre woke up with praise and thanks in his heart to the Lord. He kept on thanking God for so many things He has done for Him in the past one year. Today, He is married and God has also blessed him with a daughter that could sing, dance and jump around the house. He knew that none of these had been his own doing.
Many actually thought that he would amount to nothing. Coming from a broken home and having struggled with the help of his extended family to get education, He knew that only God could have delivered him and set him on a large place (see Psalm 18:19).
Friend, I do not know what God has done for you. But you can never go wrong with praise and thanksgiving to God. You can never be wrong when you take the time to think about God’s goodness in your life. Today, I encourage you to bless the Lord and thank Him for where you are and for what He has done for you.
Sing a new song to the Lord. Let it not be all complaining, grumbling and asking Him for things. He has done so much forĀ us already and He deserves our praise. For the Lord’s goodness and His mercies endure forever. How much of God’s goodness and mercy have you received in the past 90 days? Have you thanked Him for it? Let the praise of the King rise in your heart today. Shalom.
