2 Chronicles 7:14.

Following the dedication of the temple and King Solomon’s sacrifices, God appeared to him a second time. This time it was to lay the ground rules as well as show him the way of escape when the people sinned. When we humble ourselves, repent of our sins and seek God’s face, God promises to do three things:

1. He will hear from heaven.
2. He will forgive our sins.
3. He will heal our land.

Friend, we have more to gain when we repent of our sins and return to the Lord. To remain in disobedience or self-delusion that we have not sinned or committed any offence is to make God a liar. And God cannot lie. If you have not sinned, how about the sin of your children, family, city, and nation?

In the passage we also see that anytime a people sin the land is always cursed for their sake. Our sin will affect our economy and fruitfulness. No wonder when a nation begins to sin and move into darkness, the economy will not flourish. This we have seen in our nation and continue to see as we move from the center of God’s purpose to that of darkness.

May the Lord open our eyes and stir our hearts unto faith and repentance so that we can pray and seek God for ourselves, our loved ones and our land in Jesus Name. Shalom.
