Sin Tolerance

Galatians 5:16-26
I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish (Galatians 5:16-17).

These days we hear statements like “Everybody is doing it. If you cannot stop them, you join them. God is not
wicked He cannot send everyone to hell. I will confess, and God will forgive me before I die”. These statements expose our sin tolerance. The increase in sin is a sign of trouble and death. But God wants us to reach out to Him and receive grace.

It appears that many of us have become insensitive to sin. What we used to condemn in the past, we now allow in the
name of new generation, globalization and human rights. May the Lord have mercy on us.

Yet, the Bible is clear on sin and what it means to sow in the flesh. The Bible says,“Do not be deceived, God is not
mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life” (Galatians 6:7-8). The choice is ours.

Friend, the environment we sow into is the environment we will reap from. If we sow sin, we will reap chaos and disorder in our society. If we sow righteousness, we will bear the fruit of righteousness, peace and order. Let us choose to sow wisely. We will be glad we did. Let us pray.

Your Turn

  • Are you walking in the flesh or you are walking in the spirit? From which environment are you feeding
your soul? From the Spirit or from the flesh?
  • Talk to God about your walk with Him.

Song: Lord, prepare me a sanctuary.
