Busyness

Isaiah 30:15-17
In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and confidence shall be your strength. (Isaiah 30:15).

Hearing from God and discerning His plans for your life require that you cultivate the habit of finding time to be quiet to listen to God. Busyness could be a hindrance.

When you are too busy, you will not have the time to pray and read the word of God. Many times, we get so busy doing what God did not ask us to do. However, if we do not take time to listen, we will take the time to cry and regret the decisions and actions we have taken without His approval and leading.

The passage we read is a popular one but I saw something in it I want to share with you. Looking at verse 15 God says, “We would not listen”. Then verse 16, we want to keep running around, engaging in activities we are not supposed to get involved in. We end up not having the grace and the anointing we need to do what He wants us to do.

You see, the busier you become with the things God does not want you to do, the less time you will have to do what God really wants you to do. This is another trick from the enemy to distract us from God’s purpose. Friend, how busy are you? Are you making out time to listen to God to help you with your itinerary and schedules? Let us pray.

Your Turn

  • Look into your life to see how you are doing in observing quiet time with God.
  • Pray for the help you need. Our heavenly father wants to help us.

Song: It’s me O Lord standing in the need of prayer.
