Praise To The Lord The Almighty

Psalm 150
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.(Psalm 150:6)

The hymn, “Praise to the Lord the Almighty the King of creation” was written by Joachim Neander in 1680.
Written in German it was translated to English by Catherine Winkworth. The hymn is a song of praise to the Lord who heals, saves and delivers. It affirms the call to worship as stated in Psalm 150.

Let us take some time to think about the words in two of the stanzas:

Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of creation!
O my soul, praise him, for he is your health and salvation!
Come, all who hear; now to his temple draw near,
join me in glad adoration.

Praise to the Lord! O let all that is in me adore him!
All that has life and breath, come now with praises before him.
Let the Amen sound from his people again;
gladly forever adore him.

Friend, is the Lord your health and salvation? Is everything within you adoring the Lord? Are we, as a people,  grateful for His love and mercy towards us? If we are, we will complain less. Let us worship the King of creation together with joy and adoration. Shalom.
