Intentional Living

2 Chronicles 19:1-11
Take heed to what you are doing, for you do not judge for man but for the LORD, who is with you in the judgment. Now therefore, let the fear of the LORD be upon you. (2 Chronicles 19:6 7).

Friend, I am aware that it is becoming more and more difficult to live as a believer in our time. This is due to the increase in the influence of sin and satan. We do not need to look too far to see the extent of unrighteousness in our homes, offices, schools, churches and streets.

Politicians promise one thing during campaigns and do something else when they are elected. The story is the same globally. The past one year was full of political turmoils, demonstrations and killings – from Europe to Saudi Arabia; Africa to the Mediterranean Sea and Americas to Asia.

Yet, the Scripture warns us to live in holiness and integrity. King Jehoshaphat said to the judges, “Take heed to what you are doing, for you do not judge for man but for the LORD, who is with you in the judgment. Now therefore, let the fear of the LORD be upon you …” (2 Chronicles 19:6 -7). In essence, we are to live in the consciousness of the Lord’s presence with us at all times and watch how we live.
Living in apathy and being oblivious of the wrath of a just God would set us up for destruction. May the Lord help us to look into our lives and amend our ways in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Your Turn

  • Think about your life. How are you living? With intentional goal of pleasing God, the world or Yourself?
  • How can you be more God-focused and live to please Him. Pray for yourself.

Hymn: Just as I am without one plea.
