God, Our Keeper
Psalms 91:1-16; 121:6
The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. (Psalms 121:6, KJV).
It is a joy to know and experience God as our keeper. Today, we will move on in our reflection on Psalm 121. The reason we need to do this is so that we gain knowledge. The more we know about what Christ’s death meant for us, the more we will enjoy its benefits. See 2 Peter 1:2-3.
The Scripture says, “The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night” (Psalm 121:6). Friend, if the Lord says the sun shall not, then He means what He says. It means that no power of diviners and wicked ones using the sun , the moon or any other elements can prosper against us if we walk in the light of this truth.
Remember, “who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not”? (Lamentation 3:37, King James Version). In essence, only what God says and approves will come to pass in my life. This is a part of our covenant right that we need to possess and walk in.
Our God is aware that satan and his worshippers use nature such as the sun, moon, floods etc. To attack people; that is why He has spoken in your favour. If the created things are instigated against you, they will not prosper. The Lord is your keeper. Receive this word with faith and appropriate it into your life. Shalom.
