He Comforts And Provides

Genesis 21:8-21
Then God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water. And she went and filled the skin with water, and gave the lad a drink (Genesis 21:19).

If God could hear the cry of Ishmael because he is a seed of Abraham, how much more will He hear us whom He has redeemed by the blood of His Son Jesus Christ?

Friend, we are precious to God and we need to see ourselves the way God sees us. He created us in His image and gave us the authority to live on earth and rule over it. We messed up yet He came after us and saved us. It shows we are of great value to Him.

Reading through today’s Bible passage, I feel love and care from God towards Ishmael and Hagar. Forget about what they did, the fact that God cares for us even in our sinfulness because He is a faithful God, touched my heart. The angel said, “Hagar, what’s wrong? Do not be afraid! God has heard the boy crying as he lies there. Go to him and comfort him, for I will make a great nation from his descendants” (vs.17-18, New Living Translation).

He opened her eyes to see the water they needed. Could it be that the water was there all along but she could not see it or God caused the water to appear? He is still the God who provides and comforts us in our times of need.  Let us reach Him in faith.

Shalom.
