Don’t Cut Corners
James 1:5-7
But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind (James 1:6).
I believe one of the reasons we are not enjoying the best of God and our walk of faith is that we cut corners. What do I mean? When we say we have faith and we believe God for something, I have noticed that many times our faith is not absolute. Many of us have plan B in case God does not show up. But before God and His word that is not faith.
The Bible says, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” (Hebrews
11:6). Genuine faith believes that God will hear and answer when we pray.
Those who receive answers from God are those who are desperate and let Him know that without Him they are nothing. See Psalm 61. If He does not do it, it will not and it cannot be done. These are the ones who receive unusual miracles and testify of God’s uncommon interventions.
James said, “Let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind” (vs. 6). May the Lord help us as we cry out to Him to help our unbelief and rid us of our doubts in Jesus’ Name. Shalom.
Your Turn
- How often do you pray and have a plan B in case God fails to answer? If this is your pattern ask the Lord to help you deal with it.
- Pray for the grace to know God more so that you can grow in your faith in Him.
