Final Greetings
2 Thessalonians 3:16-18
Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you (2 Thessalonians 3:16, NIV).
I love the way Paul concludes his letters. Sometimes his heart of love, care and concern for the readers are always revealed through them. At other times, his heart towards God and faith in what He can do are made known.
In concluding the letter to the Thessalonians, Paul emphasized who God is and what he expects Him to do for the people. He said, “Now may the Lord of peace himself give you his peace at all times and in every situation. The Lord be with you all” (2 Thessalonians 3:16, New Living Translation).
We need peace and Paul knows a God who can give it. This peace is not given once for a situation, but at all times and in every situation. It means that I can access the peace of God that I need in my heart and in my situation at any time that I need it. If only I will ask for it and believe that God can give it. See Mark 11:24.
Friend, we need the God of peace in our life. The God of peace does the following:
- Sanctifies us and keep us blameless. See 1 Thessalonians 5:23.
- Makes us complete and helps us to do good work. Hebrews 13:20-21.
- Abide with us when we do His word. Philippians 4:9.
May the Lord help you to desire these blessings. Shalom.
Your Turn
- Can you feel the joy that I have as we look at the things that the God of peace can do in us and for us?
- Do you want to enjoy these manifestations of His peace? If yes, pray and ask the Lord to fulfill His word in your life.
Song: I love You Lord, and I lift my voice.
