The Dead Will Rise
1 Corinthians 15: 12-28
Now if Christ is preached that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? (1 Corinthians 15: 12).
Christ’s death and resurrection are the evidence we have that those who died in Him will also rise with Him. Jesus said, “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also” (John 14:3).
Friend, we must not be ignorant of these facts. Paul argued, “And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty… but now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep” (1 Corinthians 15:14, 20).
Christ came to earth to die in order to redeem us from the wages of sin, which is death. See Romans 3:23. In addition to this, redemption also means that we will not be harmed by the second death. This is the essence of the eternal life that we received and have in Christ Jesus.
Let us not forget, “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming” (1 Corinthians 15:22-23). May the Lord strengthen your heart with faith in His word in Jesus’ Name. Shalom.
