Jesus Had Assurance
Luke 4:1-13
“It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God’” (Luke 4:4).
Until you have assurance in your heart, satan will continue to play with your mind and steal your peace. When he came to Jesus he could not succeed. With every temptation, Jesus responded to him saying: “It is written”. When satan could not stand Him, he left.
On one occasion Jesus told satan, “Get behind Me, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve’” (Luke 4:8). Jesus defeated him because He knew that He did not need satan’s validation to know who He was. His identity in God had already been declared by His father during His baptism. This is what satan came to test.
We will win over his accusations too if we take the time to study the word of God and know what God has provided for us in the salvation package. If we do not know that our future and present are secure in God, how will you be able to respond?
I believe it is important for us to study this subject so that we can be prepared for the days ahead. Please tell others about the devotional. They can download or read it online. May the Lord grant us an open heaven to understand His word.
Shalom.
