Don’t Be Misled

Mark 13:1-13
Jesus replied, “Don’t let anyone mislead you, for many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah.’ They will deceive many” (Mark 13:5-6, NLT).

Although many do not believe that Jesus is the Son of God or the only Savior the Father has given to mankind, we who believe must not be deceived. We must not allow false teachers and prophets to mislead us.

Because they do not believe, many may not have a reason to celebrate Jesus’ death and resurrection. To them it is all myth. However, to us the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ opens the way for us to know God. His death was the penalty for our sins.  The Bible says, “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Corinthians 5:21).

Now, we are free to serve the Living God and approach His presence with boldness. See Hebrews 4:16. On this our faith and hope rests. We must be on our guard as we continue to watch and wait for the signs of the end times. Jesus has warned us. We must heed His warning.

Remember, if there are no possibilities of threats to our faith through heretical doctrines and false teaching, we would not be warned. Please, guard your heart and gird your faith in God and in Jesus Christ. Shalom.

Your Turn

  • Thank God for the reminder to be watchful.
  • Pray that your heart will continue to follow hard after the Lord.
  • Pray that you will not be deceived as you wait for the Lord’s second coming.
