Words For The Nations

Isaiah 31:1-3
Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, and rely on horses, who trust in chariots because they are many … but  who do not look to the Holy One of Israel, nor seek the Lord! (Isaiah 31:1).

his year, many things would happen beyond our human comprehension. While a situation is being analyzed, another one would happen in a different part of the world. I perceive many instances of confusion on the global scene.

Global leaders also will be confused as they look for the way forward on many issues. The rivalry among nations like Russian and the United States of America will continue. This will cause great shaking in the economy of their allies.

Locally, our country may go through a situation of political turmoil. The ruling party may experience an implosion that will threaten security in many parts of the nation in response to crisis within the party.

Yet, the answer is in God, who wants us to seek Him for help. God was unhappy with the Israelites because they sought help from other gods. He said, “Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help … who do not look to the Holy One of Israel, nor seek the Lord!” (vs. 1).

While the god of this world, satan, is at work in his efforts to destroy God’s creation, we must pray for our nation and our world. We need to ask the Lord to have mercy and remember us for good. We are the work of His hands. When we pray God will hear and answer. Let us pray. Shalom.

Your Turn

  • Pray as you are led.
  • We live in this world, we deserve peace. Let us ask for it.
