Vengeance For The Believers
Psalm 94:1-11
O Lord God, to whom vengeance belongs O God, to whom vengeance belongs, shine forth! (Psalm 94:1).
The other day, I heard one of my mentors preach on the day of vengeance. In the message he said God would not do anything about your enemy if you do not tell Him to do so. Why? It is because God is too merciful and compassionate. Immediately, my spirit picked the truth in his words and I understood what he meant.
This year, believers around the world must lift up their voices in prayer to the Lord and speak against injustice and the evil in our land. When we ask the Lord to rise, He will respond and act on our behalf.
The Scripture says, “O Lord God, to whom vengeance belongs O God, to whom vengeance belongs, shine forth!” (Psalm 94:1). The writer asked the Lord to shine forth. He did not take things for granted. In the face of battle, we cannot afford to say: “whatever will be, will be”. We must contend in prayer, as we stand in faith.
If we do not pray, “Let God arise”, He may not arise. Remember, until the Jews cried out to Him in Exodus Chapter 3, God did not respond. The delay led to the extra 30 years they spent in Egypt. When they cried, God heard and responded. It is time to seek the Lord on behalf of our family, churches, land, city and nations. Shalom.
Your Turn
- Ask the Lord to show you the various areas in your life, city and nation that you need Him to appear as the God of vengeance.
